The Importance of Early Learning

Little Taddies is guided by the National Quality Standards, and the Early Years Learning Framework. They help to guide and shape the curriculum for all education and care services for children under the age of 12 years across Australia. Children’s brains and neurological pathways multiply and develop faster in the first five years of life. At no other time in their lives will so much be happening in their brains. For this reason, high quality interactions with trusted adults and peers will assist in the learning processes for your child and will set them up for learning at school and throughout their lives. Our educators understand the importance of this learning and development for all children, and as such are committed to ongoing professional development to stay current in their knowledge of how best to provide an interesting and developmentally appropriate program for the children who attend Little Taddies. Studies have shown that the best way for young children to learn is through play and through being given the opportunities to test, and try new and interesting concepts and ideas, using the child’s strengths and interests as the basis for our programs. We believe in a holistic approach to learning with focus on gross motor and fine motor development, social skills, language including numeracy and literacy, cognitive thinking and problem solving as well as independence and school readiness. Information about our programs and your child’s development will be accessible to you throughout your child’s learning journey. By having access to this you can keep communications open between the Centre and your child.
