Starting child care can be a time full of emotion for both you and your child. To support you both during the transition, we recommend that you have some time at the Centre before you start to get the child acquainted with the educators and the other children. This will help to start the bonds between the children and their educators. Building strong relationships with you, your family and your child is very important to us, and we believe that this makes a real difference to the positive learning outcomes of your child. From your child’s first day, they will begin to make connections with educators and other children. It can take a little while for both families and children to feel comfortable in their new surroundings. To make the transition smoother, you are welcome to call or text on your child’s first day as many times as you like to check to see how they are going. If on their first day, your child is really unsettled, we will let you know. It’s a good idea for your child to start a day or two before you start work, so you are close by and able to come if need be.
The settling process is a unique journey for everyone, so please feel free to come and speak to one of the educators about the settling journey for your child
